Lighthouse vs ActionableAgile vs Nave

An honest comparison of three flow metrics and forecasting tools. All three help software delivery teams see cycle time, throughput, WIP, and work item age, and forecast delivery with data instead of estimates. They differ most in hosting model, licensing, and pricing.

The short version: ActionableAgile and Nave are established commercial SaaS products. Lighthouse is the open-source, self-hosted alternative: free to start, flat-rate instead of per-user pricing, and your delivery data never leaves your own infrastructure. We build Lighthouse, so judge our framing accordingly; the facts below are checkable.

When ActionableAgile or Nave might fit better

If you want a fully managed SaaS with nothing to host, both are mature, respected products, and ActionableAgile in particular carries the legacy of Daniel Vacanti's work on flow metrics. If your work lives in Trello, Nave supports it and Lighthouse does not. Honest is honest.

When Lighthouse fits better

Choose Lighthouse when data must stay inside your network, when per-user pricing does not scale for your organisation, when you want to try the full core for free without a procurement cycle, or when you want your AI assistant to query flow data directly. Because it is open source, the tool survives budget cuts and vendor decisions: if you ever stop paying, your data and the tool stay with you.
